Job Description:
Fairfield University, Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of the Practice nursing faculty position beginning August 1, 2023 on our Austin Texas campus. The Egan School offers Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited baccalaureate and graduate degrees (MSN and DNP) in nursing, with specializations in nurse anesthesia, nurse midwifery, family nurse practitioner, psychiatric nurse practitioner, clinical nurse leader, and nursing leadership.
Egan is a top-ranked School of Nursing and has been designated as a National League of Nursing Center of Excellence for Nursing Education. Candidates for the position should have experience that is consistent with the programs mission and must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, including expertise in the use of technology in the classroom. Clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing is preferred.
Requirements:
Candidates will possess an earned doctoral degree (preferably in nursing) and the desire and ability to work collaboratively with students, interprofessional faculty, and community partners. Candidates should be prepared to teach day and evening courses. Candidates must be innovative in curricular development and be prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses. Medical-surgical teaching experience and demonstrated commitment to innovation and excellence in the classroom, lab and clinical settings are preferred.
