Job Description

The Staff Accountant will help continue to grow our Finance function and maintain the general ledger and recording of financial transactions. You will support all aspects of financial accounting, including billing operations and month-end close processes. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and communicate accounting treatment and support Driven Data's growth. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will have an exciting opportunity to implement processes and best practices for a high-growth and mission-driven company.

Job Responsibilities

  • Play an essential role in the month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting reconciliations
  • Participate in monthly and annual general ledger closing processes to ensure accurate financial statements, including making month-end journal entries, performing financial analysis, and gathering feedback from internal business partners related to their budget variances
  • Perform all areas of accounting for revenue recognition: creating invoices, processing change requests, and resolving discrepancies with customers
  • Assist with sales tax database monitoring and management
  • Assist with the year-end financial statement audit to ensure a smooth and timely process
  • Challenge the "status quo" by supporting process improvements to streamline and shorten the month-end close timelines

Requirements / Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in accounting or finance with 2-4 years relevant accounting experience
  • Relevant accounting and operations experience, including experience with technology, SaaS, or membership business models
  • A strong sense of teamwork is highly desired
  • Experience developing a remote-friendly environment in the SaaS space
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, and HubSpot is a plus
  • Proven organizational and critical thinking skills, with great attention to detail and a strong personal commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
