Job Description

As a clinical analyst you will create Clinical Reminders for Medsphere’s CareVue electronic health record. These reminders are a form of clinical decision support that present clinicians with recommendations for patient care based on clinical best practice and the patient’s signs, symptoms, and test results. Your work will help hospitals improve healthcare outcomes as well as regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Adapt clinical guidance and medical best practices into decision support rules that can be deployed as clinical reminders
  • Create clinical decision support capabilities using the clinical reminders feature of CareVue
  • Work with the CareVue sales, implementation, and customer support teams to understand customer needs for clinical reminders
  • Help the Medsphere implementation team and customers understand the capabilities of clinical reminders and their appropriate uses
  • Evaluate clinical reminder requests for feasibility
  • Implement, test, package, and document clinical reminders for distribution
  • Create Reminder Reports
  • Periodically review and update clinical reminders

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Background in computer science or another engineering discipline
  • Nursing degree or other clinical backgrounds (preferred)
  • Experience with one or more computer programming languages
  • Able to use Boolean logic to implement decision support rules
  • Several years of experience using electronic health records
  • Strong knowledge of clinical processes and workflows
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and spoken English
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Medsphere’s CareVue or VA VistA EHRs (preferred)
